Decals

question Which is better?  A screen printed decal or flexographic [roll label]?
answer I know everyone hates the person who answers a question with another question, but.............what are you using it for?  If the answer is for an outdoor application, then screen printing is the only way to go.  One of the advantages to screen printing is that we use such heavily pigmented inks, inks that can last 2-3 years outdoors.  Additionally, more ink gets deposited in the process............a lot more.............roughly 50 times the ink as a flexographic, to be exact.  If you've ever put a decal on your car and watched it go south [faded ink, peeling] within 60 days, it was a flexo.

question Why are screen printed decals more expensive than flexo?
answer There are several reasons.  The first is that the production time for screen printing is much more labor intensive than flexo decals, which are printed on rolls.  In addition, those heavily-pigmented inks that are used for screen printing are considerably more expensive.  Even the substrate materials cost more, as we use a heavier paper liner [the backing sheet], which keeps all those individual finished decals flat.

Shelf Talkers

question Why should I use vinyl for my Shelf Talkers?  Isn't paper less expensive?
answer Yeah, paper's cheaper, but it just doesn't work.  And yes, there are companies out there that make shelf talkers from laminated cardstock, but we don't.  Nothing compares to vinyl.  Its superior construction properties ensure that your shelf talker won't collapse like a paper one.  Once the neck of a paper talker is creased, it will never stand up again.

question How thick is the vinyl?
answer Roughly 97% are printed on 10 mil vinyl.

Artwork Requirements

question What type of file should I use for my artwork?
answer Adobe® Illustrator®, Adobe® Photoshop®, high-resolution PDF

question Should I send the fonts with the artwork?
answer You can either include the fonts or convert them to outlines.

Die Cutting

question  What is kiss-cutting?
answer  Unlike full punch die cutting, kiss-cutting leaves the backing paper in tact.  This makes it easier to remove individual decals from a full sheet.
